 Cell to Cell

Okay, this blog post was inspired by a friend's blog, Unskilled and Mediocre, by Rholt.
Bob will be proud!
It is about cell phones, okay, mine in particular, but feel free to tell me about yours in the comments. If you own one, what it looks like and if you use it much and what peeves you have.

*proudly displays a shiny silver device*
I have a cell phone awareness badge.
I own the top-of-the-line verizon Bluetooth capable, web search phone.
This beauty is a must see. The wireless Bluetooth is a chrome pink and lights up blue.

*looks wide eyed and open mouthed pointing delightedly at her wireless connection device*
*hugs cell phone*

I love my cell phone capabilities, and I have purchased song bytes that fit the personality of my friends who call me. Including the song 'your so vain' for my ex.
*nods with serious look on her face*
*points her finger outward, shaking it slightly with a frown*
Please turn off your phone or on vibrate when out at public events.
I turn my phone off when I attend any public events, including dinner out. You never have to worry about being able to hear around me, I am not about to interrupt any public outing, besides I like to let my phone box receive messages as well so you all can reach my recorded voice encouraging a message.
I never answer if I am with a friend, I think this is a rude thing, to have someone pick up their phone and chat with someone while their present body is facing you. I have experienced this first hand and felt a bit cheated of my time and ended up cutting it shorter than I had planned because it seemed that my friend was more worried about missing a call than visiting.
Now, I will say that I have an attachment more than most because a lot of times my phone is my only connection to hubby and kids. I can talk free to them at any time or state since we all have verizon and it is free cell to cell, but it is not to be used to make anyone else's life inconvenient. My family know the rules of etiquette too, and we all practice them and so we are not upset if we have to leave a text or voice message.
There are other benefits to having a phone. For one, decorating it!
*hopping from one foot to the other in anxious delight*
I do like the fact that I can purchase a new carry case and bangle for it. I have a summer theme right now and if you were to be around when hubby calls you would hear Kenny Chesney sing 'old blue chair', you would see that I have a wallpaper of the beach and have a flip flop bangle hanging off of it!

*twangs flip flop to make it move back and forth for added effect*
Okay,*shrugs* so I really like my cell, if you have any complaints, or compliments.... *grins wide*..........call me!

 Traveling Time

I am headed to NY today, then will return with the girls on Wednesday July 5th to finish their two weeks here with Matthew and I.
This is my favorite times, having the girls with us here during the two weeks that are mine, this is when I get the best of both worlds.

I will be passing through areas that have been affected by the flooding, it saddens me to think how many suffered recently. We shall be forming disaster relief teams to send there soon through Hope Unites.
If your church or organization is interested in doing such work, look us up on the web hopeunites.org. If you do decide to take a team to a disaster area site, please get involved with an organization such as ours, that teaches you how to help and be a solution, not a hindrance. Many load a vehicle of willing volunteers who arrive empty handed with full sprits and end up living off of supplies meant for the people there and not able to help because case management hasn't been done yet. These steps are important for people to get their insurance claims and FEMA money. We will send you to prepared sites who have case managed already and are waiting for help to arrive to serve our neighbors.
We need to help the present situation without forgetting the gulf as they are still rebuilding.
Your Prayers are needed as well.
God Bless.

 Chinese Delivery

Okay People, I am not the type to antagonize my neighborhood food places, but I found this audio/video and thought it was quite funny. You need to listen to it in it's entirety to truly enjoy it!
My child referred it to me and I could not help but share it here.

 A New Chapter

"The reward of a thing well done is to have done it. "
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

True enough, my first born has graduated.
She, and her group of girls, have migrated to my home over the 6 years as one whole lump or individual meanderings. I have watch them go from cute children, awkward teens, to beautiful women. Some have traveled and vacationed with us. They have had minor disagreements over the years but work them out. They accept each other's shortcomings and praise each other's accomplishments. They have embraced all of their classmates and judge none. They are as diverse as life itself and glory in it.
I am proud of this wonderful creative and talented group. They will always have strong memories together.
All of the girls in this groups are enrolled in college for this fall, 4 of which my daughter is included, are renting an apartment together and are attending the same college.
Graduation day itself was just perfect. My daughter even had an extra surprise as she was awarded both drama and music awards offered by the school. This was an amazing achievement. It was a heart warming surprise since she was involved in Chorus, musicals and plays because of her love for theatrics.
The pose in this picture is a story in it's own since the group have played a game called 'painting', where they strike a pose when someone yells painting, then the picture is taken, this is what they came up with in a few seconds. What a great team!

(my daughter Sarah, aka Toasty, is fourth over from left to right in the back row)
