Whispered Promises
Saturday March 11, 2006
I love the diversity that I find here because it truly makes me backup my thoughts and beliefs. I think this can be done on a good scale. It is why my blog never gets added to because I am busy writing comments on blogs that inspired them.
I have learned to take the criticism here and see beyond it and actually try and wonder why I feel the way I do about things. Although I have a strong faith filled belief, I also am open minded, and try to understand others.
I believe, that what I hold as my foundation, should not build walls that keep me away from people. Therefore judging others is not only dumb, but it only narrows my vision and I become the unthinkable, a bible-thumping lunatic with no charity to spare. I know, I suffered at the hands of such people I called my friends and now they won't even look my way.
Perhaps my belief seems archaic and narrow minded to some, but I am not afraid to explore things and I have rested my faith on God because through it all His words and His devotion has stood a firm foundation, and I took many a winding and unnecessary road. I do not mock others and really I avoid conflict as much as possible. Yet I am not afraid or unable to defend myself.
I love science, nature, people, animals and regions. I love the complex world we live in. It not only is wonderful but there is always something new to explore and learn.
I don't seek popularity traps, a few great friends is better than a arm load of 'good time' friends. I love to comment on blogs and let people know I am reading what they are saying and am enjoying it; even if it isn't what I agree, I still think about it and sometimes I have to backtrack on something I said, because I am only human and I am full of mistakes to divy out yet. That's the joy of being open minded, you don't forget to grow, to apologize, or learn something new. You then gain more more to share.
When bloggers set your foot out the door just to make a point of making someone else wrong and theirself right, they have robbed their heart and soul and they become smaller, and less desired. So keep that in mind when you visit here.
So my friends, talk on, I want to hear you!

Flapping wings of lark in flight
Mashing with the violet night.
Hooting owls in hollow oak
Calling out to nameless blokes.
The wind hides in it’s shady gloom
Echoing out the night of doom.
Upon a steed, his hands are bound
They’re bringing him back to the sleeping town.
He sits tall and proud though death preceeds
His horse snorts steam, a mighty steed.
I watch him with my breath abated
His strength and glory long awaited.
I fight the tears that seek my eyes
Watching him with those we despise.
They over threw our gentle King
Slew and squandered most everything.
We hid ourselves in the wooded glen,
Those farmers, traders and gentlemen.
“We have to fight back,” our leader had cried.
We felt fierce and strong by his side.
But now he rides off to the gallows
Tears fill my eyes, it’s hard to swallow.
A tender voice comes up from back
“I think we need to fight and attack.”
I stumble, frightened at his words,
But men around me draw their swords.
“Can we do it?” I think aloud.
As I look upon my haggard crowd.
A cry rang out through that wondrous night,
With a mighty rush we came to fight.
Mortal men fell among the trees,
But mercy wasn’t found among the pleas.
All was quiet, the battle done,
Looking about I saw we had won.
But victory is so bitter-sweet,
Our hero was dying at my feet.
I cradle his head upon my breast,
Life blood oozing from his noble chest.
His life and soul now slipping fast,
I wait for these words of wisdom to pass.
He whispers horsely, “Freedom must reign,
Blood will be shed before it’s gain.”
“You must lead ,” he ended in a gasp
as he slipped away within my grasp.
I mount his horse my heart is sore
But a fire within me begins to roar!
We will prevail, there is no choice
For freedom is the master’s voice.
*This was written in 2001 when my father was bouting cancer for the second time, I came across it when cleaning out my files and thought I would share it, not one of my best works but it has an endearment to me, btw, if you don't know, my dad is doing fine*

"I said what I meant, and I meant what I said, a Blogstream is faithful, one hundred percent …”
This little piece of my life is gaining a bit more of my time recently and I try very hard to maintain a space so that it is not the foremost thing in my life, but it is quite powerful.
What makes it so powerful? Because we are raising our thoughts and gaining momentum in our writings to encourage, expand, accept, to change or remain committed. This stream has people who love giving and receiving advice.
We have become our own counselors and share our experiences. Life experiences are nothing unless we learn from them and grow. When we share something horrific in our lives, we detach ourselves a little more from the pain and when we learn another has also experienced a similar ordeal we commune. Sometimes we may see another gravitating toward the broken path, our pulse race and our fingers fly to type a guardianship of words to them. And when our voice is heard,It feels then like we suffered for a reason and that part of our lives no longer has a void feel to it,instead we changed it to a purpose. We in essence, are healing ourselves. When a blogger comes on here to attack and their target hits one of our bookmarked friends, we buzz in as a swarm and protect the other because we now are a community. We have become an exclusive lot who check on each other’s well-being. We pray for each other, suffer with one another, join our voices in laughter and we are saddened and feel deeply when one of us suffers a loss. This is friendship. This is knowing the other from the inside out. This is good.

(Matthew has his first day off in over 3 weeks so I am hookying it from here today. He's in the shower, so I will give you a bit of fun and catch up with you all tomorrow.) Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark... One: Don't miss the boat. Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat. Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Six: Build your future on high ground. Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs. Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. Nine: When you're stressed, float a while. Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

These are real pictures from a Biloxi warehouse providing food and shelter for many of the homeless and or home bound. The need is great there still so keep them in prayer and deed. The project is a 10 year one and we are teamed with many founding organizations for example, Red Cross, Hands and Feet, and UMC VIM to name a few. We at Hope Unites Organization send teams down regularly, if you or your organization want to help there are many needs and all are used. If you want to peek to see what it is about you can go to www.hopeunites.org. Gael Orr, the president of this organization, has been a best girlfriend of mine for 17 years. Her heart is big. She has and still is leading teams on a regular basis all over the world. Okay, enough plugging, I can’t help myself it is such an exciting thing to give and anyone can give. These pictures were all from 3 different people at 3 different times with their own cameras, and there was no rain that day. We were astounded when we were putting together a brochure and were reviewing the pictures. Gael said that everyone said that the warehouse was a very peaceful place to work.
